Payroll Accountant Assistant:

In this integral role, you'll be working closely with our Payroll & Human Resource Accountant, contributing to the smooth operation of our payroll and human resource functions. Here's what you'll be up to:

- Managing the processing of weekly or biweekly payrolls, ensuring meticulous adherence to federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Taking charge of onboarding processes for new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and terminations with precision and timeliness.
- Conducting thorough audits of W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, and more to uphold accuracy.
- Keeping our systems up-to-date with the latest employee information, covering wages, benefits, sick leave, and vacation time.
- Crafting insightful management reports on payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, and benefits deductions on a regular basis.
- Overseeing various audits, including payroll, insurance, and tax audits, ensuring compliance and integrity.
- Handling weekly payroll tax payments and preparing quarterly and yearly Payroll tax filings in collaboration with State and Federal authorities.
- Skillfully reconciling bank statements to maintain financial accuracy.
- Playing a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our employee benefits programs, staying ahead of industry trends and recommending suitable benefit programs.
- Ensuring strict adherence to legal requirements and regulations concerning human resources, maintaining meticulous records.
- Being proactive in updating and refining our human resource policies and procedures to reflect best practices.
- Designing and implementing an efficient filing and retrieval system for historical human resource records.
- Providing guidance and support in employee counseling and disciplinary actions as needed, fostering positive employee relations.
- Administering various benefits programs, including life, health, dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, and employee assistance.
- Demonstrating flexibility by taking on additional assignments and responsibilities as directed by supervisors.
