Business Development Executive - U.S. Army Avionics

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Employment Type: Direct-hire, Full-time, Exempt
Total Compensation: $250K
Citizenship Status: Candidates must be able to obtain Security Clearance - US Citizen ONLY. Sponsorship is not being offered at this time. 
Reports To: Sr. Vice President, Business Development
Schedule: Monday –Friday (9-80 work schedule, every other Friday off)

POSITION DETAILS
A forward-thinking and technologically advanced aviation company located in Fort Worth is looking for an experienced professional to join as a Business Development / Capture Executive. This individual will have experience working with the US Army to promote and sell proprietary software solutions or aviation maintenance. Known for its leadership in cutting-edge aircraft technologies, the company is dedicated to advancing aviation systems that transform the industry. In this role, you will lead initiatives to expand the company’s software systems business, specifically within the US Army and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) sectors of the military. The focus is on driving business growth and identifying new revenue opportunities. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire process from opportunity identification to securing contracts, driving strategies, and influencing the success of projects in a fast-paced environment. Should know the sales process with the U.S. Army and preferrably have good connections and insight about US Army pocurement.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Development:
Build and sustain relationships with key military personnel, uncover new business opportunities, and lead compelling technical presentations aimed at generating revenue.

Strategic Growth:
Take the lead in crafting and executing campaigns that target new contracts. Key tasks include:
  • Analyzing market trends and competitors
  • Mapping customer requirements and decision-making
  • Developing unique product solutions
  • Assessing financial investments and business cases
  • Creating actionable plans based on PGO/PWIN analysis

Proposal Creation:
Prepare and refine strategic documents such as technical papers, pricing strategies, and proposals designed to secure contracts and generate business.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with leaders in the UAS and Sustainment business units to drive overall growth, ensuring business development efforts are aligned with corporate strategies.

Market Expansion:
Focus on military sectors while also exploring commercial sector opportunities to diversify the company's revenue sources.

Brand Promotion:
Lead initiatives that include participation in trade events, advertising, and social media efforts to enhance visibility and promote the company’s software solutions to military clientele.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Business is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:
At least 7 years of business development experience, with a minimum of 5 years in capturing business within the defense or aviation industries. Experience with US Army puchasing. Previous exposure to military aviation systems is advantageous.

Skills:
  • Strong communication abilities, both oral and written, with a proven ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • High organizational acumen, capable of managing pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to independently drive projects to completion

Other Requirements:
  • Availability for up to 50% travel
  • Must either live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area or be open to relocation (with relocation support provided), maybe be open to remote for an exceptionally strong fit.
  • U.S. Citizenship with eligibility for security clearance is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills suitable for various professional settings
