Category Specialist
Location: Plano, TX (in office on Wednesdays)
Contract to Hire
Job Responsibilities:
Analyze and manage supplier performance, ensuring that the company's objectives are met.
Develop and implement category strategies to optimize product offerings and pricing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing for products.
Monitor market trends and competition to identify opportunities for growth.
Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to vendor contracts and agreements.
Prepare and deliver detailed presentations to management and stakeholders, including necessary identification and compliance information.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in a category management or procurement role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired Experience:
Experience working in a retail or financial services environment is a plus.
Knowledge of market trends and supplier dynamics in the relevant category.
Familiarity with vendor management systems and data analysis tools.
Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in procurement processes.
