Our client is looking for a Certified Journeyman to join their team!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation and wiring of transformers, trouble shooting, pulling cable, construction work, utilizing power tools, equipment operation. Installs pull boxes, conduit, poles and foundations.
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
- Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Completes reports, logs and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practices.
- Work with technical team on advanced and intermittent technical issues.
- Produce quality work that meets or exceeds National Electric Code requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Valid California State Certified General Electrician Card
- 3+ years industrial, commercial and institutional electrical experience
- High school diploma or GED, additional education a plus.
- Applicant must possess valid CA driver’s license and be able to meet driving requirements, CDL Class B license preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Required to stand;sit;use hands to finger, handle, or feel;reach with hands and arms;stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts;outside weather conditions and moving traffic.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
- Comfortable with confined space work.
- Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime and night shifts when required.
