JOB DESCRIPTION
Join an organization with a strong reputation as a technology innovator in vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft design. Presently developing a VTOL unmanned aircraft system (UAS) for US government, with potential commercial applications, in the 300lb to 600lb takeoff gross weight (TOGW) class. Emerging UAS requirements exist in a rapidly growing segment where the current market needs and company's product capabilities are closely aligned.
The Chief Engineer for Unmanned Aircraft Systems is a leadership role that will be responsible for the following:
Design, development and test of VTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Lead the technical team in all phases of UAS development including:
Design
Supplier Selection
Assembly
Test and evaluation
Will have a strong technical foundation in Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Will lead development of the UAS vehicle, mission system integration, payload integration, ground station and all supporting systems and hardware. The mission implemenation of the unmanned aircraft, including Mission Autonomy and knowledge of available AI mission autonomy solutions is an important element of this position.
Will develop and deliver technical briefings.
Will have cognizance over industry partners and suppliers that support the unmanned aircraft sub systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have technical and engineering depth, including the technical ability and experience in VTOL and UAS systems commensurate with the leadership requirements of this position.

Advanced degree in engineering or associated technical discipline
SECRET Security Clearance, either current or has the ability to obtain.
