Job Description
Cloud Architect (Remote but most live close to one of our client's offices in either of these cities in California: Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, Palo Alto, San Diego, or San Francisco).
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead our Microsoft 365 initiatives. This role will involve designing, planning, and managing our Microsoft cloud services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft enterprise cloud solutions, including Active Directory, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, and Entra Connect. Additionally, a strong understanding of governance and security options for these services is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical expert for Microsoft 365 within the organization.
- Design, configure, and maintain our Microsoft 365 environment.
- Translate business requirements into architectural designs and present them to senior management.
- Plan and execute end-to-end implementations of Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Provide strategic guidance on existing and emerging Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Create detailed documentation for cloud solutions and projects, including processes and change management.
- Assess and address governance needs and security configurations for the Microsoft 365 platform.
- Work with information security teams to ensure designs comply with security best practices.
- Analyze Microsoft 365 and cloud environments to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Develop and review technical documentation, and mentor IT team members.
- Provide solution ownership and expertise throughout the organization’s software development lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, System Analysis, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience with IT solutions and engineering in a global enterprise environment.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 certifications and subject matter expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Defender for Office 365, Teams, and other O365 workloads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Security components, including Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Entra ID Premium.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and migrations to Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with Azure and Microsoft Intune is a plus.
- Experience with email protection and security tools, such as Proofpoint, is a plus.
