Our client is in need of a custodian/ maintenance worker.

Job Description:
  • ​​​​​The Custodial/ Maintenance Employee shall perform duties as specified in conformity with policies established by the client's handbook.
  • Hours: Our normal working hours are Monday thru Thursday 8AM - 5: 30 PM and Friday 8 AM - 12: 00 PM (40 hours). However, these hours need to be flexible due to special events which could occur on or off campus and we could be called on to support. We also work some weekends (including Sundays) to perform deep cleaning when there aren’t as many people on the worksite.

Skills Required: This job needs experienced and focused candidates who:
  • Have a proven record of working in this type of job.
  • Possess knowledge of the proper use of cleaning supplies.
  • Are able to handle multiple tasks assigned.
  • Are able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Are able to stand, walk, lift, stoop and bend for prolonged periods.
  • Are able to use common hand tools.
  • Perform general housekeeping of buildings.
  • Operate equipment/machinery such as buffers and vacuum cleaners.
  • Keep buildings and assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Possess knowledge of the proper use of cleaning supplies.
  • Follow procedures and directions for the use of chemical cleaners.
  • Clean, sanitize and disinfect restrooms to include toilets, urinals, sinks, walls, mirrors, fixtures, doors.
  • Clean and sanitize all contact surfaces.
  • Clean/clear blocked sink drains and toilets.
  • Clean doors, grates, kickplates, and partitions.
  • Mop restroom, classroom, breakroom, conference room and hallway floors.
  • Dust and clean display bulletin boards, furniture, woodwork, fixtures, windows, window blinds and other equipment.
  • Stock and maintain supplies in restrooms and other assigned areas.
  • Vacuum and spot-clean carpets.
  • Empty and clean waste receptacles and dispose of trash appropriately.
  • Maintain outside areas including sweeping or washing sidewalks and walkways and picking up debris from the perimeter of the buildings.
  • Perform routine maintenance on custodial equipment.
  • Disinfecting and sanitizing bathrooms, office and classrooms as directed.
  • Perform general maintenance functions to include:
    • Replace incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs.
    • Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff tile floors.
    • Ensure proper care in the use of maintenance and power equipment.
    • Spray offices/classrooms/labs with insect repellant as needed.
    • Keep storage areas neat and orderly.
    • Process maintenance requests as assigned
    • Assist in moving equipment and furniture.
    • Assist with cleaning, set-up, and facility preparation for special meetings or events, to include moving/arranging furniture and equipment.
  • Perform other work-related responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Lead, Director of Operations and/or the President

Required Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year experience in custodial work
  • Some general maintenance experience and the ability to use common hand tools preferred
