Distribution Specialist IV

Overview

The position is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. Duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying management personnel when they don’t have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders. Also ensuring that key Service, Quality and Inventory Accuracy metrics are fulfilled in our client’s Warehouse Department.

 

The Distribution Specialist Level IV is responsible for coordinating and carrying out special projects within the Warehouse Department and the Manufacturing Area. These specialized tasks can include but are not limited to: new bin location creation in SAP, new inventory bin assignment in SAP, and warehouse layout changes. Other functions include putting together a team to help execute these projects to completion and reporting all updates to the manager.




Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform the primary responsibilities that are essential in the warehouse area: Receiving, Picking, Packing, Put Away, Returns, Production Orders and Cycle Counting. Individuals must follow all safety rules and procedures, as well as adhere to all company policies.

 

These functions include but are not limited to:
  • Follow proper procedures for packing, shipping, and receiving.
  • Manage and complete all projects assigned on time by the Production Control Supervisor
  • Create (if needed) and maintain Warehouse Work Instructions
  • Run advanced SAP warehouse transactions as required
  • Perform the Cycle Count Administrator’s duties in full
  • Establish locations for all new items
  • Create space in the warehouse as needed
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing environment
  • Assist warehouse management in problem solving and process improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient ability to read and comprehend spreadsheets and reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, like Word and Excel
  • Must be organized and goal driven

  • Unique Problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of advanced warehouse transactions in SAP
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to learn higher level warehouse transactions in SAP
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable and honest
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime, as required
  • Able to stack and load products




Other Requirements:                   
  • Work overtime as required.                                                                    
  • US Citizenship or permanent residence required.




Education/Experience:

High School or equivalent, college preferred; three (3) years minimum experience in a warehouse environment preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements:

Adequate manual dexterity to perform essential functions;ability to use some physical efforts to handle heavy materials, boxes, or equipment (most tasks require no more than 50 lbs. Lifting);position requires candidate to be on their feet a large percentage of the time;ability to work in a warehouse environment.
