Job Description


Position Description:

As our Field Engineer, you'll be the go-to person for virtual construction needs across our Preconstruction, Construction Operations, and Consulting/Litigation Support Services departments. This role demands a self-motivated, open-minded, and dedicated individual who thrives on new challenges. While based in Woodland Hills, CA, you'll also travel to jobsites and partner offices as required and may work onsite when necessary. You'll report to our Virtual Design & Construction Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and coordinate 3D object-oriented models.
- Manage project documents using platforms such as Prolog and ProjectSight.
- Process subcontractor RFIs and submittals.
- Create concrete shop drawings, including lift drawings and formwork drawings.
- Perform contract drawing reviews for constructability and issue RFIs.
- Produce layout information for Robotic Total Station.
- Participate in project BIM coordination and clash detections.
- Produce logistic drawings using software such as TEKLA, Sketchup, and REVIT.
- Generate model-based quantity reports and implement actual schedule information into the model.
- Perform 3D scanning using a scanner.
- Create as-built models based on 3D scanned files or surveying results.
- Develop 4D/5D visual simulations incorporating BIM+TIME+COST using Navisworks or Synchro.
- Support Preconstruction and Business Development efforts by creating pursuit models and photorealistic renderings.
- Produce presentation-quality rendered models, fly-throughs, and manage RFIs.

Qualifications (Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements):

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a construction-related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years in the building or design industry preferred, but not required.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and independently use construction drawings.
- Understanding of VDC or BIM concepts.
- Exposure to and preliminary experience with Building Information Model (BIM) systems such as Autodesk Revit, Bentley, Vico Constructor, TEKLA, Synchro, Navisworks, Sketchup, and similar software suites.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
- Strong personal management skills, dedication, organization, and open-mindedness required.
- Creative thinker with the ability to work in a close-knit environment.
