Job Description
Company Overview: Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing leader in tufting manufacturing and technology that operates across multiple states and countries. We are seeking an experienced Controller to join their team on a temporary basis for a 3 to 5-month contract. This position is crucial in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, managing multi-company financials, and leveraging ERP systems.
Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
Tax Compliance:
Lead the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Work closely with external tax consultants to optimize tax strategies.
Multi-Company Financial Management:
Oversee financial activities for multiple entities within the organization.
Consolidate financial statements and provide insights into the financial performance of each entity.
Interstate Commerce:
Understand and navigate the complexities of interstate commerce regulations.
Ensure compliance with state-specific financial and tax requirements.
ERP System Management:
Utilize your expertise in ERP systems to optimize financial processes. Epicor Kinetics is a major plus.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline data flow and enhance system efficiency.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting.
Provide insights into key financial metrics to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is highly desirable.
Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with a focus on tax compliance and multi-company financial management.
In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, with hands-on experience in system implementation or optimization.
Familiarity with interstate commerce regulations and experience managing financial operations in a multi-state environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
This is a fully remote contract. Note: This is a temporary contract position for 3 to 5 months with the potential for extension based on business needs.
