Mission-Critical Maintenance Planner
Location: Spartanburg, SC
Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Overview
GTN is seeking a Mission-Critical Maintenance Planner to establish and lead a comprehensive maintenance management program supporting 24/7/365 high-performance computing operations. This role will build the site’s maintenance foundation and serve as the primary owner and administrator of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
The Maintenance Planner will design, implement, and optimize preventive, corrective, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs to ensure maximum uptime, operational resilience, and long-term asset performance. This position works at the intersection of Engineering, Operations, and Reliability and plays a critical role as the facility transitions from commissioning into steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities
CMMS Ownership & Administration
•Lead implementation and configuration of the CMMS, including asset hierarchies, PM templates, workflows, labor tracking, and reporting
•Serve as the on-site CMMS subject matter expert, maintaining data integrity, permissions, and maintenance libraries
•Build and maintain a complete asset register including OEM data, warranties, lifecycle information, and spare parts requirements
Maintenance Program Development
•Develop and manage preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs aligned with OEM guidance and mission-critical best practices
•Standardize work order structures, task libraries, and scheduling rules across all critical systems
•Maintain a rolling 12-month maintenance forecast integrating regulatory, OEM, and operational requirements
•Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize risk and protect uptime
Procedures, Reliability & Asset Performance
•Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs aligned with safety, reliability, and operational standards
•Ensure procedures are reviewed, approved, version-controlled, and embedded within the CMMS
•Support predictive maintenance initiatives including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and condition-based monitoring
•Partner with OEMs and service providers to validate maintenance intervals, parts strategies, and warranty compliance
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
•Track and report KPIs such as schedule compliance, backlog aging, MTBF, MTTR, and equipment reliability
•Support Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives
•Drive continuous improvement in maintenance execution, documentation quality, and contractor performance
•Maintain audit readiness and support commissioning closeout and third-party assessments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Train internal teams and contractors on CMMS workflows, reporting standards, and maintenance expectations
•Partner with Operations, Engineering, and EH&S to ensure all work is planned and executed safely
•Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
Required Qualifications
•7+ years of maintenance planning experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, power generation, semiconductors, or regulated industrial facilities)
•Hands-on experience implementing and administering enterprise CMMS platforms (e.G., IBM Maximo, SAP PM, Infor, Fiix, eMaint, UpKeep, or similar)
•Proven ability to develop SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for complex mechanical, electrical, and controls infrastructure
•Strong knowledge of NFPA, NETA, ASHRAE, TIA-942, OSHA, and Uptime Institute methodologies
•Advanced CMMS reporting, workflow design, and asset data management experience
•Solid understanding of reliability engineering principles and asset lifecycle planning
Technical Environment Experience
•Electrical distribution, UPS, switchgear, and backup generation
•Chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, heat exchangers, and advanced cooling technologies
•Building and energy management systems (BMS, EPMS, SCADA)
Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or related discipline
•Experience supporting Tier III / Tier IV or similarly critical infrastructure
•Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar analytics tools
•Background in predictive maintenance programs and spare parts strategy
