Overview
A multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting organization is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) to support the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure sectors. This role focuses on engineering design, project coordination, and technical execution, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in site development, stormwater management, and infrastructure design, along with the ability to contribute to project planning, client communication, and construction support activities.
Core ResponsibilitiesEngineering Design & Technical Execution
- Perform civil engineering design for land development and infrastructure projects
- Develop construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation
- Design stormwater management systems, including detention and water quality solutions
- Apply site development design principles, grading, drainage, and utility layout
- Utilize engineering software (AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) for design and drafting
- Assist in managing project scope, schedules, and deliverables
- Coordinate with internal design teams, external consultants, and architects
- Support quantity takeoffs, bid package preparation, and technical specifications
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records management
- Participate in quality control (QA/QC) reviews to ensure design accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
- Present project designs and technical information to stakeholders and public audiences
- Support permit coordination and regulatory approvals
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify existing conditions
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications
- Review and process contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Identify and resolve design conflicts and field issues
- Collaborate with and support junior engineers and technical staff
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship on design standards and best practices
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented engineering environment
Qualifications & ExperienceExperience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in civil engineering design and project delivery
- Experience with land development, site design, and municipal infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software
- Strong knowledge of stormwater management, drainage design, and water quality systems
- Experience with construction documentation, bid preparation, and specifications development
- Familiarity with site investigations, feasibility studies, and permitting processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail under tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional project teams
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and client service orientation
