Job Description:

Our client is seeking a ​​​​​​Project Management & Estimating Manager, responsible for hiring and managing the Project Management team as well as the Service Estimator Supervisor, driving quality and efficiency, and providing sales support and equipment & service quotes to hospitals and other customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. 
  • Lead and organize a team of Project Managers and Service Estimators to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks including quotes, project tracking, and status.
  • Hire, onboard, and train new Project Managers and Service Estimators.
  • Ensure effective communication practices and processes are being utilized with all team members, internal customers, and external customers to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate team competencies and provide performance-related coaching, as needed
  • Collaborate with other leaders to optimize processes, quality, and turnaround times to deliver a positive customer experience
  • Read and interpret blueprints (plumbing/medical gas) and written specifications in order to ask key questions if data is missing and deliver accurate quotes.
  • Review equipment photos, O&M manuals, and account records to identify parts/equipment required for service, repair, and maintenance plans.
  • Responsible for accurate quotes that meet targeted margin levels.
  • Collaborate with the sales team, vendors, and manufacturers throughout the sales and/or bid process.
  • Articulate and write the complete scope of work during the bid phase.
  • Ability to understand labor and travel rates and job cost analysis.
  • Ability to be a critical thinker to understand when a finalized quote is missing components or not logically correct.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales team, and technical support team to identify a complete scope of work as required per NFPA 99 code.
  • Review subcontractor proposals to ensure they meet the required scope of work.
  • Support outside sales team by developing quotes, reviewing account history when needed, and providing appropriate support when sales are in the field.
  • Act as the point of contact for customer inquiries on quotes and orders
  • Maintain and monitor quote request log.
  • ​​​​​​​College degree preferred, but not required.
  • 2-4 Years of progressive leadership in project or program management
  • NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize a fluid workload and multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Delegating and Leadership.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quoting and estimating process, particularly with the medical gas, construction, or mechanical/plumbing industries.
  • Technically astute and mechanically inclined.
  • Field experience in medical gas installation or service is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered blueprints/plans and written specifications.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 99 code is strongly preferred.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude required.
  • Exceptional communication (both written and oral), negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, passionate for quality and accuracy.
  • Self-motivator with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
