Position Summary:
The person in this position will conduct and manage the processes for obtaining goods and services for the company. Will serve as an agent for the company in managing supplier relationships and activities.
Position Responsibilities
- Act as an agent of the company with responsibility for managing all supplier–related activities and authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements
- Manage supplier performance and ensure satisfactory contract completion and closure
- Develop and integrate requirements, develop requests for quotations and proposals, analyze supplier responses, negotiate and award contracts, and manage post-award supplier activities
- Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Develop and manage procurement plans related to cost, schedule, quality, delivery, terms, and conditions
- Ensures planning decisions from external customers and suppliers are incorporated to ensure high high-quality, reliable source of supplies and information
- Develop and implement strategies to leverage the optimum prices and delivery schedules. Ensures appropriate negotiation of lead times and price keeping with these strategies
Required Experience:
- B/S/B/A in business administration or other relevant discipline
- 8 to 10 years of experience in procurement and/or material control in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of DFAR and FAR regulations required
- Strong personal computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
