SAP Procure-to-Pay (PTP) Functional Lead

Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on SAP Procure-to-Pay (PTP) Functional Lead to provide SAP functional design leadership as part of a newly formed SAP Center of Excellence (COE) within the IT organization. This role will lead functional and solution architecture for a newly implemented SAP S/4HANA environment, supporting a high-volume automotive supply chain operation.
The SAP PTP Lead will collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, Sales, Distribution, Warranty, Operations, IT, and AMS teams to ensure SAP solutions align with business requirements, SAP best practices, and enterprise standards. This role is instrumental in driving stability, standardization, and continuous improvement across Procure-to-Pay processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesSAP Functional & Solution Leadership

Lead functional design and solution architecture for SAP Procure-to-Pay (PTP) within SAP S/4HANA.

Ensure configuration across PTP, MM, FI/CO, VMS, Variant Configuration, SD, OTC, and Plant Maintenance aligns with SAP best practices and documentation standards.

Serve as the PTP subject matter expert within the SAP COE, including SAP Ariba integrations.

Facilitate workshops to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into SAP functional solutions.

Design and implement integrated SAP solutions to address complex procurement, finance, and operational needs.

Anticipate future business requirements and ensure scalable, sustainable SAP designs.

Partner with AMS, business, and technical teams to proactively identify, resolve, and reduce defects and enhancement requests.

Research production issues, propose alternative solutions, and drive resolution through configuration or custom development.

Apply OSS Notes, manage SAP patches, and stay current with SAP releases.

Act as a key functional contributor for WRICEF design supporting PTP and cross-functional processes.

Support development teams by defining solution architecture, functional specifications, and design documentation.

Ensure strong integration between SAP MM and FI, including account determination and payment processing.

Provide senior-level guidance and decision-making influence with business stakeholders.

Collaborate closely with Architecture, Development, BASIS, Security, and AMS teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Support organizational change management and adoption of SAP PTP solutions.

Deliver excellent customer service to internal users.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience)
-
10+ years of experience in SAP or related enterprise systems
-
8+ years of hands-on SAP Procure-to-Pay configuration experience, including:

Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
-
Goods Receipts and Invoice Verification
-
Vendor Management
-
Integration with MM and FI/CO
-
SAP Ariba solutions
-
-
Strong experience preparing Process and Functional Design documentation
-
Proven ability to translate and map business processes into SAP
-
Experience supporting SAP implementations and post–go-live environments
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations

Knowledge of Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes

Experience with one or more of the following modules:

EWM, FI/CO, IBP, MM, VMS, Supply Chain

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Hybrid onsite role:
-
2 days/week at a Parts Distribution Center in Sealy, TX

2–3 days/week at a nearby corporate campus

Office-based role with extended periods of computer work
-
Ability to move up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 25 lbs occasionally
Travel Requirements
- 20% Minimal travel is required for this position. This position is required to work in the office at the Parts Distribution Center in Sealy, Texas 2 days a week and the Corporate Campus 2 –3 days a week.
