Senior Industrial Automation / SCADA Engineer (Ignition + PLC Systems)
We’re looking for a senior-level Industrial Automation Engineer with strong experience designing, developing, and supporting large-scale SCADA and PLC-driven environments across complex industrial operations.
This individual should be capable of contributing across both SCADA platform architecture and controls integration, with particular strength in Ignition platforms, HMI development, PLC systems, industrial communications, and field deployment support.
The ideal background comes from high-throughput manufacturing, distribution, logistics, utilities, process automation, or other mission-critical industrial environments where uptime, standardization, and scalability matter.
Core Experience Required
- Strong hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA platforms, including:
- Perspective
- Vision
- Gateway configuration
- Tag architecture
- Alarm management
- Historian and reporting
- MES and operational system integrations
- Deep experience integrating with major PLC platforms such as:
- Rockwell / Allen-Bradley
- Siemens
- Schneider Electric
- Beckhoff
- Other enterprise industrial controls platforms
- Experience with:
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Controls system architecture
- HMI / operator interface design
- SCADA standardization across multiple facilities
- Strong understanding of:
- OPC, MQTT, and industrial communication protocols
- SQL databases and historian strategy
- ISA-95 / ISA-88 concepts
- Plant-floor networking and industrial connectivity
- Experience supporting:
- New system deployments
- Legacy modernization efforts
- Site commissioning and startup
- FAT / SAT execution
- Multi-site implementation programs
Strong Preference For
- Experience building standards, templates, and repeatable architecture across multiple sites or business units
- Exposure to environments such as:
- Automated facilities
- High-volume production operations
- Distribution and fulfillment centers
- Process manufacturing
- Food & beverage
- Utilities or critical infrastructure
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams
- Comfortable working closely with:
- Controls engineers
- Field service teams
- Project leadership
- Plant operations and maintenance teams
- Willingness to travel periodically for startup support, commissioning, and field execution when needed
