Senior Cloud Operations Engineer
An established enterprise organization is seeking a hands-on engineer to strengthen the operation and reliability of its cloud-based systems.
This position combines Azure infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and production support. You will improve operational visibility, automate recurring work, help resolve critical technical issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to make services easier to operate and recover.

This position requires regular on-site work. Schedule flexibility is also required to support a continuously operating technical environment, including occasional work outside standard business hours.

This position combines Azure infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and production support. You will improve operational visibility, automate recurring work, help resolve critical technical issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to make services easier to operate and recover.
Responsibilities
- Improve the availability, performance, and recoverability of production cloud services.
- Develop automation for operational workflows, configuration, deployment, and remediation.
- Manage infrastructure and configuration through code and version-controlled processes.
- Build and improve monitoring, dashboards, logging, and alerting.
- Reduce unnecessary alerts and repetitive operational work.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and help coordinate technical recovery.
- Investigate recurring problems and implement lasting corrective actions.
- Support deployment readiness, recovery planning, and operational testing.
- Work with application, infrastructure, and security teams to improve production supportability.
- Maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and recovery guidance.
- Promote consistent cloud-engineering and operational practices across teams.
- Senior-level experience in cloud operations, platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure in production.
- Proficiency with scripting and operational automation.
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code and source-control practices.
- Knowledge of automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, centralized logging, dashboards, and alerting.
- Understanding of cloud networking, identity, security, storage, and compute services.
- Experience responding to production incidents and performing root-cause analysis.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with application, infrastructure, security, and support teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience supporting highly available or business-critical systems.
- Familiarity with containerized applications and modern application-delivery practices.
- Exposure to automated remediation, disaster recovery, configuration governance, or cloud compliance.
- Relevant cloud, DevOps, security, or service-management training.
