Junior Product Owner (Direct Hire, Remote)


We are looking for a Junior Product Owner to join our client’s product team. You will help support sales and production by gathering feature requests, prioritizing tasks, organizing sprints, and scheduling releases. This role also involves developing new product offerings based on client needs and ensuring successful product delivery.

Travel within the continental US is required.

Top 3 Skills Needed:
 
  • Healthcare Claims Experience: Experience in healthcare claim standards, claims adjudication, and payment processing.
  • Product Management: Proven track record in managing all stages of the product life cycle.
  • Communication and Organization: Strong communication abilities and exceptional time-management skills.
Day to Day:
  • Understand client business needs and gather information to determine business requirements.
  • Write and maintain functional specifications and create high-level design, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop user documentation and instructions.
  • Monitor post-implementation issues and document revision requests.
  • Communicate with developers to ensure clarity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Produce business cases for product enhancements and suggest changes based on analytics and research.
  • Create reports highlighting business trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrate functional capabilities to internal and client-facing audiences.
  • Manage projects to stay on time and within budget.
  • Act as a change agent to improve business processes.
  • Keep track of industry trends in healthcare providers and payers.
Background/Experience:
  • Expertise in healthcare claim standards, including claims adjudication and payment processing.
  • 2 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
  • 3 years of experience in the healthcare domain, preferably in software development for healthcare revenue cycle management systems.
  • Ability to read and understand industry-standard X12 file formats (837, 835, 277, 271).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose solutions to client issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to impact operations positively.
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL.
  • Big picture thinking and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience using JIRA or Confluence.
