Employment Type: Full-time, On-site (9/80 schedule –every other Friday off)
Compensation: $150K–$200K base + performance bonus
Clearance Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen (due to government contracts);eligible for SECRET clearance

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UAV Software Developer to contribute to the design, integration, and performance optimization of advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) software systems. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the autonomy, reliability, and flight capabilities of next-generation UAV platforms. You will work closely with engineering teams to integrate avionics, support autonomous missions, and optimize real-time system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and integration of flight software for autonomous UAV operations, including testing, tuning, and support during flight missions.

  • Enhance software performance for real-time operation, safety, and mission-critical reliability.

  • Integrate flight control systems with various onboard payloads such as Lidar, EO/IR, hyperspectral sensors, and other electro-mechanical subsystems.

  • Work with avionics communication standards including ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and MIL-STD-1553.

  • Support telemetry systems to facilitate data transmission, including vehicle health, mission data, and configuration state to ground systems.

  • Participate in flight test operations, including both autonomous and remote-controlled modes.

Core Competencies

  • Collaborate closely with systems engineers and hardware teams to support the successful deployment of UAV systems.

  • Analyze test and flight data to improve control algorithms and overall aircraft performance.

  • Tune autopilot software using real-world performance feedback and simulation tools.

  • Maintain a proactive approach to continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and system refinement.

Desired Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of professional experience in UAV software development, embedded systems, or aerospace software engineering.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Hands-on experience with flight control systems such as Pixhawk, ArduPilot, or similar platforms.

  • Proficiency in C++, Python, or comparable programming languages.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux-based environments and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Experience with flight data analysis, debugging, and system-level troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a cross-functional engineering team.

  • Familiarity with standard productivity tools (e.G., Microsoft Office Suite).
