SHIFT OPERATIONS LEAD

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Shift Operations Lead to serve as the on-site operational authority responsible for the integrated, day-to-day execution of 24x7 site operations within a High-Performance Compute Center (HPCC) environment.
This role provides direct leadership across shift operations, the Operations Control Center (OCC), soft services, and site services during assigned rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The Shift Operations Lead ensures uptime protection, operational readiness, and safe, compliant performance in a high-reliability, mission-critical environment.
This position reports to the Facility Support Manager and reinforces a culture of safety-first execution, accountability, and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shift Operations Leadership
•Lead all shift-based mission-critical operations personnel, including owner representatives and third-party service providers
•Maintain real-time situational awareness of site conditions, asset health, and operational risk
•Serve as the primary escalation authority for operational incidents, alarms, outages, and security events
•Direct incident response activities, communications, documentation, post-event reporting, and support root cause analysis
Operations Control Center (OCC) Oversight
•Oversee OCC staffing and monitoring systems including BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and CCTV
•Manage alarm response processes and escalation workflows
•Validate operator training, qualification, and authorization standards
•Identify and escalate operational readiness gaps and staffing constraints
Operational Readiness & Compliance
•Execute the FMEO Operational Readiness (ORR) plan across shift operations and site services
•Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, permits, and formal change management processes
•Enforce approved service request workflows and prevent unauthorized work
•Monitor third-party performance, responsiveness, SLA compliance, and cultural alignment
Site & Soft Services Oversight
•Provide operational oversight of housekeeping, janitorial, waste management, and grounds services
•Oversee shipping, receiving, material handling, staging, and logistics coordination
•Ensure controlled movement of people and materials within critical environments
•Coordinate service activities to prevent interference with live operations
Safety & Risk Management
•Champion a safety-first culture across all shifts and operational functions
•Enforce EH&S compliance, Lockout/Tagout procedures, permits, and site safety standards
•Coordinate with Physical Security to maintain access control and secure operations
•Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe or high-risk conditions are identified
REQUIREMENTS
•Experience leading 24x7 operations in a mission-critical environment (HPCC, data center, power generation, utilities, or similar)
•Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
•Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and monitoring systems
•Experience overseeing operations centers, logistics, and site services in high-reliability environments
•Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with disciplined execution
•Familiarity with SOP, MOP, and EOP frameworks, CMMS platforms, and incident management processes
•Strong communication skills with sound escalation judgment
•Commitment to servant leadership and a safety-first operating culture
