This role sits at the intersection of technical tax expertise and real life impact. As a Tax Senior Manager in a high net worth practice, you’ll work closely with individuals and families as they navigate complex tax matters and plan for the thoughtful transition of wealth across generations. You’ll be a trusted advisor, not just a reviewer of returns, helping clients make informed decisions around income, estate planning, and long term financial goals.
You’ll lead complex engagements, collaborate with a talented tax team, and play an active role in shaping strategies that go beyond compliance. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who enjoys both the technical challenge of sophisticated tax work and the relationship side of advising high net worth clients.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Preparing and reviewing highly complex tax returns, including individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit filings.
- Evaluating tax positions across individuals, trusts, and estates to identify planning opportunities and optimize outcomes.
- Partnering with team members to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- Working directly with clients to design wealth transition strategies tied to cash flow planning, income distribution, business succession, and estate preservation.
- Reviewing and interpreting legal documents related to estate planning and business succession.
- Conducting technical research on individual, trust, and estate tax matters and translating that research into practical guidance.
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members, while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Proactively managing client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value beyond the initial engagement.
- Contributing to business development through client referrals, proposal support, networking, and industry involvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with an active CPA license or law degree
- Seven or more years of public accounting tax experience, with a strong focus on individual, fiduciary, gift, and estate tax work.
- Deep expertise in individual income tax and estate planning, with a solid understanding of IRS regulations.
- Experience with flow through entities and private foundations is a plus, but not required.
- A natural curiosity for staying current on tax law changes and industry trends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, approachable way.
- Comfort building relationships, developing business, and representing the practice in professional settings.
