Our client is seeking a full-time Technical Writer to join their team!
Job Description:
Responsible for researching, writing, editing, and verifying high-quality technical documents.
Work directly with management, technical, and project staff to develop project and customer-facing documentation that meets customer requirements and user needs.
This includes performing administrative, formatting, editing, and project management activities from project assignment through document completion.
Responsibilities:
Researches, writes, rewrites and verifies high quality technical documents.
Displays excellent grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation skills.
Creates new or updates existing technical documentation in accordance with established corporate and/or project-specific standards.
Provides documentation project management. Tracks and reports progress of projects from inception through production
Works with technical and project staff in developing documentation suitable for customer presentation.
Participates in team meetings and collaborates with all subject-matter experts.
Contributes to the establishment of improved documentation processes and deliverables.
Researches and analyzes system requirements and designs information products to meet those needs.
Acquires an overall knowledge of the product(s) and is responsible for documenting, and an understanding of how they relate to the entire product solution.
Ability to conduct a gap analysis against a Requirements Conformance Matrix
Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in technical writing, editing, or proposal-related experience.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university in English, Communications, Engineering, or equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing and communicate across various levels of management.
Excellent Microsoft Word skills, including strong familiarity with the Styles, Paragraph, and References functions.
Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Acrobat, and source control software.
Writing experience within a software environment is preferred.
Capacity to work both independently and in a team.
Skill in researching, organizing, and presenting technical information.
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, to meet deadlines, and to effectively collaborate with peers within the organization.
Experience in instructional design and creative writing is a plus.
Writing portfolio will be requested at interview.
Experience in design documentation, testing, training, and quality assurance
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction.
