Job Description

Transportation Supervisor Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the transportation department. Play a critical part in the efficient and timely delivery of goods while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage transportation staff, including drivers and logistics personnel.
  • Plan and coordinate daily transportation routes to optimize delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety and DOT regulations.
  • Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance and ensure fleet readiness for daily operations.
  • Manage transportation budgets and control costs associated with transport operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as warehouse and inventory teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist in training new employees and providing ongoing training opportunities for existing staff.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any transportation-related issues.
  • Prepare reports on transportation metrics, costs, and performance for management review.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Have:
  • High school diploma or higher ( Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree a plus ).
  • Proven experience in transportation or logistics management
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Experience:
  • 3+years experience in transportation management or supervisory role.
  • Experience in budget management and cost optimization within transportation operations.
  • Familiarity with the logistics industry in the Dallas area is a plus.
  • Experience with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
