Grapevine, TX (hybrid or fully onsite)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The VP of Technology provides leadership to all aspects of technology management centered around software development, product management, software quality assurance, cloud and infrastructure operations, and cybersecurity. This position is a key senior management team member that develops, manages, and achieves overall business goals. A critical duty is also to serve as the single point of contact for collaboration with parent CTO in supporting and enabling technology plans and goals.
The responsibilities include technology strategic planning, software product management, software engineering, cloud infrastructure management, employee management and development, and outside partner oversight. Additional responsibilities include supporting marketing and sales efforts and partnering with operations to deliver exceptional service to Education customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with senior management to establish business-wide Strategic and Annual Operating Objectives. Partner with senior management peers to deliver exceptional service to Student and University clients.
- Manage a Product Management team providing Software Product Roadmaps, product features, priorities, and overall product design needed to sustain business unit market competitiveness, meet current and prospective client needs, enable internal efficiency, and support financial performance.
- Manage a software engineering team providing complex architectural software design and development using agile software development methodologies, domain-driven design, microservices, containerization, and other modern SaaS software platform elements.
- Manage a software quality assurance team providing defect tracking and reporting, software test case development, manual testing, automated testing, regression testing approaches, and other appropriate software quality assurance techniques.
- Oversee contract management, performance management, and financial performance for nearshore and offshore development partners.
- Manage Cloud-based technology infrastructure by using modern performance and cost-oriented approaches, such as serverless computing, elastic scaling, and other cloud-based services approaches to virtual infrastructure.
- Coordinate with for Cybersecurity items such as policy development, technical controls implementation, security scanning, penetration testing, and maintainance of certifications such as HITRUST and TX-RAMP.
- Collaborate with CTO to support and drive success in technology initiatives. Support Risk Strategies CISO in role for Information Security.
- Recruit, hire, and provide performance management for Technology employees. Develop career paths for specific Technology job families, such as Software Engineer, Software Quality Assurance Engineer, devops engineer, and Infrastructure Engineer.
- Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar technical area.
- Master’s degree in business management or technology management a plus
- 5+ years’experience as VP or top technology leader in software engineering and software quality assurance of revenue-producing technology products/platforms for businesses, with at least $25M in annual revenue. Ideally, in Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings using public cloud environments or AWS or Azure
- 10+ years managing full-stack technology teams of software, quality assurance, and infrastructure engineers building, operating, and maintaining a revenue producing SaaS platform.
- 5+ years’experience managing software quality assurance teams using both manual and automated testing techniques.
- 3+ years’experience working with or managing product management teams to develop product/platform strategies, associated product roadmaps, and product owner functions in an agile development methodology.
- Direct experience with healthcare systems integration via Restful APIs and SFTP file transfers.
- Experience in the Health Care Insurance industry a plus
- Experience managing technology infrastructure environments consisting of Data Centers or Cloud Equivalent, edge network devices, servers, and storage for businesses of 200+ employees.
- Experience working with Product Management teams in developing product/platform strategies and associated Product Roadmaps
- 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity using frameworks of ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, HITRUST, or similar. Experience with HIPAA standards, security code scanning, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, event and intrusion prevention/detection systems, and similar practices.
- Demonstrated an action-oriented leadership style that is solution-focused and time-sensitive for key business and customer needs.
- Demonstratable strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in dynamic setting of high visibility deadlines that may change as needed for client or business conditions.

- Productivity - Microsoft 365, Office 365 products, Slack, and Teams
- Documentation and Workflow - Atlassian Confluence and JIRA
- Source Code Repository - GIT HUB
- Security Scanning –Sonar Qube or Cloud, Qualys or similar dynamic security scanning
- Monitoring –Datadog
