Residency Status: US Citizen or Green Card Holder ONLYPosition OverviewNicholas & Company is seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operator to support daily warehouse operations. This role is responsible for safely moving, staging, and organizing product using forklifts and pallet equipment in a fast-paced food distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move product throughout the warehouse
- Build, stage, and transport pallets for outbound shipments
- Perform pallet put-away (let-down) and replenishment
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring product accuracy and safety
- Maintain proper inventory placement, rotation (FIFO), and tracking
- Wrap and secure pallets for shipping
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and follow all safety procedures
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with warehouse standards
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience operating a forklift and/or electric pallet jack
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment (food distribution preferred)
- Ability to safely handle and move palletized products
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Basic math and inventory skills
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Preferred Experience
- Experience with RF scanners or warehouse management systems
- Background in high-volume or food distribution environments
- Familiarity with pallet staging, loading, and dock operations
Work Environment
- Fast-paced warehouse setting
- May include cold storage or freezer environments
- Requires standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment throughout the shift
